Hello Sports Fans!
Did you know that EVERYTHING you do in your life impacts how your genes express themselves?
Did you know that changes in your genetic expression can be felt in less than a weekend?
Do you know what all that means and the hope that comes with it?
You can LITERALLY become younger over a weekend! You can LITERALLY drop levels of chronic pain over a weekend! You can LITERALLY positively impact chronic health conditions over a weekend!
EVERYTHING ... you THINK, you EAT, you SEE, you TOUCH, you SMELL ... AND the energy of other people AROUND you ... impacts your genetic expression!
This means that you are NEVER out of the fight when it comes to your health or your mind, as you can ALWAYS do SOMETHING to HELP!

Hello Sports Fans,
This comparison screams two things ... the person has no idea about cancer and no fucking clue about addiction.
However, let me just ask a few quick things to help continue to put this idea to rest for those of us that don't have our heads up our own asses.
If I'm low on cash and can't get my chemotherapy can I just go to a meeting and keep my cancer from getting worse? Can I manage my cancer in any form or fashion by simply attending meetings? Can I call my sponsor to stop puking up blood? Can I white knuckle it through my body destroying itself?
Hmmmm ... no, no, no, and fuck no. And it would be no to all the other comparisons as well. You know why? Because cancer and addiction aren't fucking alike! Stop the zombie like mantra you uneducated dumbasses!
IF you actually want to learn about what addiction REALLY is, study the fields of psychoneuroimmunology, epigenetics, and neuroscience and pay close attention to all the shit about neuroplasticity ~ as that in and of itself shoots the shit out of the whole 'disease' model.

Hello Sports Fans!
Here are some thoughts on why our mental health care specifically that of addiction or substance use disorder is so fucked up.
There are TOO many "professionals" who THINK they know what to say that come from TOO many different educational paths!
Think about it you have: counselors, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, case workers, peer support specialists, interns, and all the medical professionals to include doctors giving advice on what people should or shouldn't do.
ALL of my degrees are in psychology, and ALL of my classes are based in psychology. History ... history of psychology, Scientific ... biological psychology, developmental psychology, Humanities ... cultural psychology, social psychology, child psychology ... and on and on for almost 50 straight up psychology, counseling, and addiction courses now.
BUT ... my degree is rated just like the person who took underwater basket weaving and gym as their extra courses. I maintained a 4.0 but those that just barely passed are hired simply because they have a 'degree'.
A 'degree' does not equal understanding nor does it equal a mastery of the field. Neither does a fucking 'license' as I've worked with some licensed professionals that were doing more harm than good and had an understanding of addiction just above that of a wet doormat.
I'm not sure what the 'fix' is yet but seeing and treating all 'education' as and allowing other people with degrees that are 'close' to psychology to give advice about addiction or recovery is just fucking stupid. Case management and social workers should do just that ... and leave the therapy to those who have had more than 3 classes in how to deal with people.
This is all my opinion and comes from my own biased perception. But when the shoe fits, lace that motherfucker up!
Upward and onward my friends!

When a clinician cares more about getting your diagnosis correct and just judging you by that diagnosis ... they are not listening to the root cause of why you have it ... and therefore your likelihood of ever getting better is slim to none as you aren't working on changing what needs to be changed!
For example, if you have a piece of glass in your leg, and I diagnose you as having chronic pain ... and give you coping skills to deal with the pain, and meds to help you manage the pain, and talk to you about how you feel about the pain ... NONE OF THAT SHIT is actually doing anything about the fucking glass!
Its the same damn thing with most in mental health, especially addiction! In addiction everyone wants to talk about the DOC or drug of choice. BUT the issues is, the drug itself isn't the fucking problem. The problem is WHY the drug is a problem to begin with!
For example, say you have an issue with drinking. I would say that you don't have an issue with alcohol but an issue with how you see yourself! The alcohol is just something that we can 'diagnose' and bill. The real issue might be that you don't think you are good enough or you are beating yourself up for something you did in your past or whatever. But all the addiction treatment centers are just focused on giving you coping skills to deal with the pain in your leg and totally missing the fucking piece of glass that is sticking out!
This concept, although seemingly simple enough, is beyond the mental grasp of the majority of mental health professional I have talked with. They argue that they MUST have a diagnosis in order to help people ... yet preachers, teachers, friends, relatives, and even kids help people all the time without a fucking diagnosis ... not to mention all the Easter Practitioners that don't even believe in a diagnosis.
Until the profession cares more about helping people excess in their lives, like with Positive Psychology, instead of trying to figure out what is "wrong" with people ... your loved ones to include yourself, will keep running around chasing your tail instead of getting down to real treatment, which looks a lot more like a conversation than a treatment plan.
May your life always be whatever you say it is!
iHello Again Sports Fans!
This is something that I've learned in my last month of being in extreme quiet and solitude ... while being alone and not working. I literally spoke more and to more people in about 1/2 hours time as i have over the last month! I have no daily human connections, no social medial, and minimal texts ... just me, my thoughts and my dog Dexter.
People say that they care about you, people talk about things like having your back and being there for you, but when it really comes down to it ~ except for the extreme few and the extreme situations ... people don't really give a fuck about anyone but themselves and their own situations. Out of sight ... out of mind.
Now, when you understand psychology, I honestly ask who could blame them. You see, when people live in a constant state of stress - living like they have a tiger chasing them 24/7 ~ the ego becomes very selfish and focused on material things ... as that is what will hep the ego survive the 'attack.'
So , in todays world of "something" is going to kill everyone at any moment ... no one gives a fuck about you or what's going on in your life, as they are just trying to survive their own 'attack'.
They say, whoever the hell "they" are, that when the student is ready that the teacher will appear. For me, my most recent teacher has been silence ... emptiness ... alonenesss. It taught me to look into my own thoughts and actions to see what was missing from myself that I was seeking to find fulfillment in others. It taught me to find happiness and peace within and not seek it in outer things or in other people.
It has ultimately taught me to be ok with myself and provided me an even deeper understanding in the tings that i was still judging in the world and in people around me. As at first, I was resentful of others, I was jealous, I was angry, all because people were not doing or responding in the way that I 'though' ... aka judged ... that they should be. Imagine, life not being exactly the way I wanted, boo hoo, poor me lol.
Once I realized that it was these thoughts that were creating my current "dis-ease" with myself and the world, I was able to redirect my thinking and my judgement, which allowed me to be 'free' within the world again and not be spun around by it because I was holding on trying to control things.
Now, I'm still alone but not lonely. I'm still in silence but I enjoy it without judgement. I still sit in the quiet of the house but I now do so in the calm of my own mind. It is true freedom to be able to be all alone with your self and your thoughts without any influence or reflection from the outside world and be at peace with everything.
So I would challenge each of you ... even if you can't see a "person" to look around and see how many 'teachers' you might personally have around you just waiting for you to realize they are there so that you can learn from them.
May your life always be whatever you say it is.
Hello Sports Fans!
Talk about a difficult 'pill' to swallow eh? Most people want to point fingers and blame all the 'things' and 'people' around them for their current circumstances in life. However, YOU are where the buck stops my friend.
If YOU don't like what's going on in your life ... CHANGE IT! Could there be people who are going to make that more difficult? Yep. Could there be life circumstances that are going to make that more difficult? Yep. BUT ... until YOU decide that YOU are the captain of your fate, you are left to the chances and drift of life. Basically you just get the table scraps instead of the real meal that you could be enjoying. ALL because, you still believe that your life is everyone else's problem.
So stop bitching about what you don't have. Stop bitching about where you are in life. Stop bitching that this or that isn't fair. And START doing something TODAY to change those things.
You know why you are still where you are in life? Because you didn't do anything DIFFERENT YESTERDAY to change today! As long as you keep repeating the same old shit you are going to get the same old results.
You MUST learn to think higher than you currently feel. As most people, especially in the beginning or when times get tough, don't "feel" like doing the hard work! It is soooo much easier to just sit back and complain and point fingers and keep feeling sorry for ourselves, then to actually get in there and do the hard work.
So let me ask. Are you doing your daily breathing? Are you drinking water? Are you maintaining your daily self-care by bathing and shaving and doing your hair and makeup? Are you walking around your block?
I ask these things because, if you won't fucking 'breath' on purpose, you aren't going to do the hard shit. If you won't drink a glass of water to help your brain and body, you won't do the hard shit. If you won't get out of bed and wash your ass and brush your teeth and comb your hair, you aren't going to do the hard shit! It's just that fucking simple.
Chaning your life begins with the little things. It's about changing your daily habits, your daily routines, your daily thought patterns, your daily food choices, your daily actives ... you must change YOU if you want to wake up one day and not be the you that you currently are!
So look in the mirror. That's who you need to hold accountable for where you are. That's who you need to depend on to get you to where you want to be. End of fucking list!
Now. GO DO THE WORK!
