So here is a crazy thought for you all ... Quantum physics says that our thoughts create the world around us. Well if thoughts can create your world, then how much do you think they impact YOU and your addiction?!
Let me let a little idea leak into your mind ... Remember the last time you were REALLY dope sick? I mean the kind where you were curled up praying someone either come by and shoot you, or bring you something ... and either choice was ok with you.
What happened when you got that phone call saying they were on the way, or they had it so come get it? EXACTLY, you felt better INSTANTLY! And what about once you finally got it in your hands ... how did you feel then?
So ... you felt great ... and the drug never made it into your body ... PAY ATTENTION NOW ... YOU can do that anytime you wish!!! AS it was YOUR belief that MADE you feel good! The drugs never made it into your system ... but you still felt better!
Think about that ...
Today's blog is inspired by a nice discussion I had with a gentleman that has finally figured out that ... this is the real thing! That there may be no tomorrow!
Yes folks! This IS the main attraction! All those days that you say ~ I'll do it tomorrow, or I'll start Monday, or whatever ... those days that just 'went by' are GONE! You 'wasted' them ... if you just let them pass without enjoying them!
You were given this precious 'gift' called life, to do with as you choose. However, just like a flower, or an amazing meal, or even a friendship ... it will all soon pass and fade away, and the only thing that will be left are the memories that you can replay. If you didn't do anything to create memories, then those things are 'gone' forever.
Stop just existing in your own life! This is NOT a dress rehearsal, this IS the main event (as Kristen Johnston says).
Learn to live life outside the box, before you wake up in one!
I want to cover a point many fail to see ... if you are not working on getting out of addiction, you are working at staying IN IT!
How many days a week did you chase your drugs? How much of your day was spend chasing drugs? How often did you apply drugs to your body when you had them?
If you are not applying 'recovery' with the same effort, you are setting yourself up for failure.
For most people I talk to, you are trying to 'undo' habits and lifestyles that have been engrained on a daily basis for well over a decade! Most have used so long, they don't remember what it's like to be 'normal'.
So being up against those types of odds ~ do you really think, just going to a meeting now and again, reading a book now and again, and trying to stay away from people ... now and again, is REALLY going to rewire your brain and change how you think?
Do you see some things as bad, and others as good? Why?
If you start a fire in a wood burning stove in the winter it will keep you warm, the same fire in the same stove in the summer will run you out of the house ... was the stove good and then bad?
What about if you move the stove too close to the drapes and it burns down your house? Do you think the stove was acting in an evil way? Do you think you were being punished?
What is the common denominator in ALL those examples? YOU put wood into the stove. YOU moved the stove. YOU kept adding wood during the summer. YOU create the world and experiences around you! If you want to change your life, you must change how you think about your life.
Have a great day!
Today I want to try and help you understand how important it really is to learn how to control your thoughts.
As simple as I can make it ...
So the way you think literally 'drives' the way you will continue to think. Bad thoughts, create more bad thoughts ... good thoughts create more good thoughts.
It is vital to your recovery, and to your overall happiness / well-being that you learn to control and redirect your negative thinking. In the midst of pain, you need to think 'health'; in the midst of lack, you need to think 'abundance'.
You are currently living the life you created with your thinking in the past. If you want a new and better tomorrow, learn how to think new and better TODAY!
It is done unto you AS you believe!
Today we are going to talk about what impacts just about everyone's life ... time. I hear all the 'time', "that sounds great, but I don't have time for that?"
We have the same amount of time in our days as Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Franklin, Gandhi, Plato, Socrates ... well you get the point. People have time, for things that they MAKE time for!
And what would those 'things' be? Things 'we' deem to be important. So, if you want to have time to do new things in your life you need to make them 'important' to you. It's much like the idea that we never have time to do something 'right', but we seem to have time to 'redo' things.
So if you want to start a new workout routine, or meditation, or yoga, or new eating habit ~ make it 'important' to you, and all of a sudden you will 'find' the time to implement it into your daily routine!
I hear some of you out there ~ "but I don't have any more time in my day." I promise, if it is important enough, your day will become longer ... as you will either stay up a bit later or get up a bit earlier. The issue is, currently what you want to do is not as "important" to you as sleep ;)
Have a wonderful day!
