We in recovery need to take a very serious look at the amount and types of sugar we are eating; and not only for healthy reasons! Sugar plays on the same reward path as drugs did/do, therefore when we have 'sugar' cravings we are also stimulating the cravings for other things as well! And yes, the irony is that all 12-step recovery places have tons of sugar available!
Take the time to look at your diet and see if there is any obvious sugar components that you can either just drop, or replace with a healthier more natural sugar like honey, or maple syrup, or natural fruits. Your brain, your body, and your recovery will be glad you did!
