Hello everyone,
I'd like to address something I deal with daily; how everyone feels about their past. I hear over and over and over again "I'm not who I was", "I used to be a good person", "I've wasted so much time", "I've hurt so many people" and on and on. While all of this might be very true there are two things that everyone seems to be forgetting ...
Another thought that many people forget is that "good" and "bad" is a matter of perception! We keep beating ourselves up for the 'bad' things we did, but what if ... those bad things saved someone's life?! What if the actions you are all torn up about changed another life for the better? Was it still a 'bad' thing? There is a mentality that can be reached that will help you realize that everything in life is just an event ... it is not good or bad, it is simply what needs to happen at the time. We as bystanders then choose to label this event and that event as either good or bad based on our perception. The issue is, our perceptions of life and the grand scheme of things is VERY limited to say the least! Learn to embrace the idea ... You are not your past, you are the summation of the potential of what resides inside of you! You are the master of your fate, you are the captain of your soul!
