I want to cover a point many fail to see ... if you are not working on getting out of addiction, you are working at staying IN IT!
How many days a week did you chase your drugs? How much of your day was spend chasing drugs? How often did you apply drugs to your body when you had them?
If you are not applying 'recovery' with the same effort, you are setting yourself up for failure.
For most people I talk to, you are trying to 'undo' habits and lifestyles that have been engrained on a daily basis for well over a decade! Most have used so long, they don't remember what it's like to be 'normal'.
So being up against those types of odds ~ do you really think, just going to a meeting now and again, reading a book now and again, and trying to stay away from people ... now and again, is REALLY going to rewire your brain and change how you think?
Who am I?
I have been called "Sirthinkalot" and "The mender of souls." I am an addiction specialist and a full-time psychology student on the way to Dr. Davis in clinical psychology. I am currently crusading for the expedited paradigm shift in addiction recovery!
